Blessed be the Memory

Allison Lee Rose

Allison Lee Rose, beloved child of God, claimed her baptismal promise late last evening.  Diagnosed with Rett Syndrome just after her 3rd birthday, Allison lived with bravery, vigor, and had a resilience often fighting and surviving many side affects and other health challenges that Rett Syndrome can bring.  Ken and Carrie along with Allison’s care team surrounded her with love and care through these many years.  PScott gathered with Carrie, Ken, and friends shortly after her death for commendation, anointing, prayers, and consolation.

Allison Lee Rose , beloved child of God

Allison loved safari animals – with images of the safari animals both on and coming out of Noah’s Ark in her bedroom.  She loved to laugh, and often would vocalize your presence, especially when she was blessed and prayed with.  Above her head on her headboard was an icon of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, carrying a lamb around his neck, as if he were carrying it to safety.

That is the image of the 23rd Psalm – that despite the dark valleys and the shadows of death, Jesus, our Good Shepherd never forsakes us, even in death, carrying us home with rod and staff to the place God prepared for us long ago.  Allison now rests in the arms of God’s love and grace along with Grandpa Ernie and all the saints who have gone before us.

The Valley of Hope Spire will toll today 28 times announcing Allison’s death to the community.  Arrangements and Liturgy information will be planned in the days ahead with inurnment in the LCHope Columbarium.

We surround Carrie, Ken, and Allison’s sister Stephany in these days, claiming the words from Romans 8, that nothing, not death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Blessed be the Memory of Allison Lee Rose.

β€œRest eternal, grant her O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon her.”
