Save the Tentative Dates!
Dear Fellow Partners of LCHope,
Peace be with you! As we find ourselves in these final days of Lent, walking together toward the wonder of Holy Week and the joy of Easter, I give thanks for you. In this sacred season, as we reflect on Christ’s journey, we are also witnessing God at work in our own shared life and future as a congregation.
Behind the scenes, your leadership teams have been prayerfully and diligently preparing for the next steps in our building project, with hopes of beginning transition and construction later this spring and summer. I am especially grateful for the faithful work of our Passing on the Faith Capital Campaign Team, whose leadership throughout Lent has guided us to this coming Palm Sunday, March 29, when we will celebrate Commitment Sunday. Together, through our Annual Mission Appeal goal of $800,000 and our 3-year capital commitment goal of $3,000,000 - we look forward to continuing the strong daily ministry of LCHope through the time of construction as well as completing our building project, addressing deferred maintance, and moving toward being debt-free by 2029.
As this journey continues, I want to share a few important tentative dates so that you can begin to hold them in prayer and in your planning:
1. Special Congregational Meeting
Following Easter, the Board of Trustees plans to call a Special Congregational Meeting, tentatively on Sunday, April 26. At this gathering, we hope to bring forward a contractor recommendation, a construction budget, and authorization to break ground once permits are secured. Once officially called, forums for conversation will be scheduled.
2. Transition in Our Worship Life
With anticipated congregational approval, the following meaningful milestones are being planned:
· Sunday, May 10 – Final Sunday liturgy in the LCHope Nave
· Thursday, May 14 (Ascension of Our Lord) – Liturgy of Decommissioning of the Nave at 6:00pm, with a time of fellowship and celebration to follow
· Sunday, May 17 – Outdoor worship in the circle drive, including the Rite of Groundbreaking; Annual Meeting to follow in the Fellowship Hall
· Sundays, May 24 & May 31 – Outdoor worship on the East Lawn, as construction preparations begin
These will be sacred and memorable moments in our life together—times to give thanks, to remember, and to step forward in faith.
3. Summer Worship Location
Through our full-communion partnership between the ELCA and the United Methodist Church, we have been graciously welcomed by Broomfield United Methodist Church. Beginning June 7, 2026, we will gather for worship on Sunday afternoons at 4:00pm in their chapel throughout the summer. We are deeply grateful for their generosity and hospitality during this season of transition. Additional details will be shared in the weeks ahead.
I also want to express heartfelt thanks to the many leaders and teams who have given so much of their time, wisdom, and care—our Building Team, Board of Trustees, staff, ministry leaders, the Passing on the Faith Team, and the Capital Finance Team. This work is truly a reflection of the whole body of Christ serving together.
We share these dates early so that you may begin to prepare and plan as we enter this holy and hope-filled season. There is much change ahead, but even more promise—and we walk it together, trusting in God’s faithfulness.
