News for the Week of September 18, 2025
Farewell from Bishop Eaton
As you may know, the Presiding Bishop of the ELCA, Elizabeth Eaton, ends her term at the end of this month. Her farewell address is in this month’s issue of Living Lutheran and is linked below. Bishop Eaton was the first woman elected to lead the ELCA, and as she closes this chapter in her ministry, her final thoughts are on the future of the ELCA. You can read her entire statement at the link.
We pray for Bishop Eaton and give thanks for her leadership. Bishop-elect, Yehiel Curry, will be installed in October.
Notes for the Week
Email Outage: our staff and ministry-leader email outage appears to be largely resolved. This was due to an error on Microsoft’s end, so while things look good on our end, we can’t be sure that this is the end of the troubles. Thanks for your patience while we get this all sorted out!
Kelly Marsh, Director of Communications, got married last week! She will be out of office September 11-22. We wish her all the best as she and Jonah celebrate and step into a new phase of life together.
Angela Nickerson will be covering during Kelly’s absence and can be reached using this form.
