Ardith “Artie” Pauline Siegrist

April 28, 1928 - January 25, 2021

Ardith “Artie” Pauline Siegrist, 92, claimed the promise of her baptism at her home in Westminster on January 25, 2021.

She was born on April 28, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Arthur and Ida Lostroh. Arthur and Ida raised their seven children on the farm of Arthur’s grandfather, Georg, which was homesteaded in 1888. Artie graduated from Malcolm High School. She went to work for the Elgin Watch Company in Lincoln where she met Sidney “Sid” Siegrist. They were married on April 8, 1950. Together they had three children. In 1958, Artie and Sid moved to Colorado. During the years, Artie also worked at Lincoln Country Club, several oil and gas companies in Denver, and retired from Qwest.

Artie was a charter member of Lutheran Church of Hope in Broomfield and was active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder. She sang in her church choir for many years and in several community choirs. Music was important to her: she took guitar lessons every week as an adult while raising her children. Artie and Sid loved dancing and traveling. Artie was very gifted at sewing, knitting, and needlepointing. She walked and exercised every day she could. She was devoted to prison ministry for much of her later life and mentored two girls through Save Our Youth.  Her love was in serving others in any way she could with her time, her talent, and her heart. Artie easily made friends for life, and she is survived by many who love her dearly.

Artie is survived by her daughter, Kaye Lynn (Charlie) Fote, of Colorado; her son, Ronald Siegrist, of Arizona; and her stepson, Dennis Siegrist, of Nebraska. She has nine grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Alta Schweitzer, and her brothers Melvin Lostroh and Paul Lostroh.

Her husband, Sid; her son, Joey, and his wife Jo Ann; her grandchildren Michael Siegrist, Kathleen Haraburda, and Colin Bowen; and her siblings Henry, Velma, and Laverne predeceased her.
