Phishing Alert!!!

This week, several phishing emails were sent impersonating LCHope staff members. Please note that these messages did not come from legitimate @lchope.org email addresses.

When you receive a suspicious email:

  1. Always check the sender’s email address carefully.

  2. Remember that Pastor Scott or LCHope will never request donations or personal information directly via email. Official communications will come by phone or through the LCHope Anchor Newsletter, which includes LCHope branding.

For security reasons and to protect against scams, the online directory password has been changed. The new password is available from the office.

Notes for the Week

  • Change to electronic giving coming soon | We are moving away from PushPay to Servant Keeper!

  • All communications have been transitioned to Kelly | Contact by emailing either kelly@lchope.org OR communications@lchope.org

CAMP REGISTRATION!

Thinking About Summer—Yes, Already!

Even though fall is in full swing, I’m already looking ahead to Summer 2026! I’ve got lots of camp and retreat dates for you—some are just heads-up, others already have registration opening soon.

Camp has been a huge part of my faith journey, and I encourage everyone (yes, even adults!) to attend a camp or retreat. Since I’m not a Colorado native, I’ve included info not just for Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, but also for two other amazing Lutheran camps outside the state.

Rainbow Trail registration opens Nov 1, and spots go fast! I (and maybe Kelly) will be at Rainbow Trail for Intros, Juniors, and Confirmation weeks.

If you’re up for a farther adventure, my family usually attends Family Camp 2 at Camp Nawakwa (PA)—and we'd love to have familiar faces join us! Summer '26 will mark our 17th year there.

Thanks,
Thomas
Director of Faith Formation

Reaching Out

Food Drive!

Bring non-perishable food this Sunday!

Donations will support:

  • North Denver Cares Food Pantry (Calvary Church, Broomfield)

  • FISH Food Bank (Broomfield)

    Food Drive Update:
Together we’ve given an amazing 3,515 pounds of food so far!

    • North Denver Cares Food Pantry: 952 lbs

    • FISH: 340 lbs

    • Anchor House: 352 lbs

That’s a total of 3,515 lbs of food shared with our neighbors — wow! Thank you for your incredible generosity!

Starting November 1, all Anchor House residents will lose their SNAP benefits due to the shutdown. We can help support our neighbors who are right across the parking lot during this time.

For this weekend’s food drive, we’re highlighting their top 5 items:

  • Rice

  • Soup

  • Dried potatoes

  • Canned fruit

  • Canned vegetables

Bring what you can, and we’ll weigh the donations to see the impact we make together. Every item helps make a difference!

Calling All Yarn Artists!

Calling all Knitters and Crocheters!
If you find yourself looking for a project: Reaching Out will be collecting donations of handmade and store-bought mittens, hats, and scarfs in December. Sizes: infant through adult

For more information contact Martha Covey.

Donations will support:

  • The Refuge (Broomfield) – serving the homeless

  • Holy Comforter Episcopal Women’s Gathering – supporting local orgs & Pine Ridge, SD

  • St. Francis Center (Denver) – via Holy Comforter’s Women’s Gathering

  • A Precious Child – serving families in 8 Colorado counties

🎅 Santa Sacks Are Back!

Help make Christmas brighter for local children through our annual Santa Sacks project! Santa Sacks will be available this Sunday before and after worship (8–9 a.m. and 10:15–11 a.m.) in Fellowship Hall.

Each sack is $60 — you can donate online via Pushpay, or give by cash or check through the offering or at the Santa Sack table. Please return filled sacks to the church (Fellowship Hall) — do not drop off at A Precious Child.

All Santa Sacks are due back by December 7 — no later, please. Thank you for helping share the joy of Christmas!
